Privacy Policy

Your hidden
memories stay yours.

This policy explains how Radius collects, uses, stores, and shares information for private, link-based drops and location-powered hunts.

What Radius Is

Radius is private, link-based digital geocaching. People create drops by attaching photos, videos, or text notes to physical GPS coordinates, then share a link so others can hunt and unlock the memory.

There is no public feed, no follower count, and no map interface for the hunt. Radius is designed around direct sharing, precise location, and controlled media access.

Information We Collect

Account information, including your authentication identity, display name or username, profile photo, session details, and timestamps such as account creation and last activity.

Drop information, including media type, drop mode, difficulty mode, GPS coordinates, city name, expiry setting, Radius Team status, prize status, riddle text, and reference photos for Hard Mode.

Hunt and unlock information, including the drop link you open, hunt status, start and completion timestamps, find records, city at the time of find, and any Hard Mode unlock photo you submit.

Device and permission information needed to run Radius, such as location permission, camera permission, push notification tokens, platform, and notification preferences.

Waitlist or website information, such as an email address you submit for launch updates.

Precise Location

Radius needs precise location to create drops, guide active hunts, verify whether a hunter is within the unlock radius, and power optional proximity notifications.

When you create a drop, Radius stores the target coordinates and a city name resolved at creation time. When you hunt, Radius may compare your reported location to the target so the server can verify the unlock.

Background location checks are intended only for active, unsolved hunts and only when you grant the required permission. You can change location permissions in your device settings.

Media and Drop Access

Drop media is intended to stay private. It should be accessible to the creator and to hunters who have successfully unlocked the drop.

Direct links can reveal limited drop metadata, such as the city, mode, difficulty, prize status, or whether the drop is active. Anyone who receives a valid link may be able to start the hunt.

Expired drops are designed to stop working, and associated media is designed to be removed from storage. Some history may remain in the creator's Vault or unlock records where needed for product functionality, security, or legal reasons.

How We Use Information

We use information to create accounts, generate share links, store drops, guide hunts, verify unlocks, show Vault history, manage Featured Drops, send optional notifications, prevent abuse, and keep Radius reliable.

For Hard Mode, Radius may process reference and unlock photos with an image classifier to determine whether the correct object was found.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand usage, improve reliability, and plan launch cities or Radius Team drops.

How We Share Information

We share information with service providers that help operate Radius, including hosting, database, storage, authentication, analytics, push notification, and AI classification providers.

We may share information when required by law, to protect people and property, to enforce our terms, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or financing.

We do not sell your personal information or build Radius around advertising profiles.

Storage and Security

Radius is designed around private storage buckets, row-level security, authenticated access, and server-side unlock verification.

No system is perfectly secure, but we use technical and organizational measures intended to protect account data, media, coordinates, and unlock records.

Data may be stored and processed in the United States or other places where our service providers operate.

Your Choices

You can choose whether to grant location, camera, and notification permissions. Some Radius features will not work without those permissions.

You can decide who receives your drop links. Treat a link like an invitation: people who receive it may be able to open the hunt experience.

You may request access, correction, deletion, or account deletion through the support channel available in the app or on the Radius website.

Children

Radius is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Radius evolves. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, or another reasonable method.
